Meeting of the Marques Festival

Saturday, September 23, 2017

Come to Carlisle, PA and join our enthusiastic team for a day of sharing our motoring passions with over 15,000 attendees at the 27th Annual Meeting of the Marques 'Artistry on Wheels' Motorshow.  Now in our 5th consecutive year as invited guests of Carlisle’s Harvest of the Arts Festival, we collectively transform West High Street into a huge variety of artistic expression.  Just like the dazzling artworks, crafts and handmade objects on display by numerous vendors, we know that our mobile art forms represent the creativity and craftsmanship that inspires and educates generations in the American car culture.  As the hometown of Carlisle Events, this is the perfect location for just such a gathering.

Today during the Artistry on Wheels these vehicles will be at rest for all to enjoy up-close and personal, but tomorrow…tomorrow we shall play, journeying the back roads of Cumberland County and beyond.  See the Artistry in Motion page for Day 2 of the 'very moving' part of our Festival weekend.

Artistry on Wheels is a celebration of the automobile’s cultural impact upon society as rolling sculpture, and not merely as a transportation tool.  The Motorshow allows the public to visually sample your vehicle’s beauty, power and purpose.  15,000+ opportunities await you to unlock a memory, make a new friend or begin the process that may bring a new enthusiast into our fold.  You ask "is there anything new  coming in 2017?"  Of course!  Improvement is a constant, fine-tuning process.

Artistry on Wheels is made up of two distinct vehicle groups:

  • One group is open to all British-made (or U.K.) automobiles and motorcycles in recognition of the original Meeting of the Marques Motorshow, held for many years at the Allenberry Resort in nearby Boiling Springs.  It's our privilege to continue the work begun by 'Tiger Tom' Ehrhart, Jared Worman, Pete Bauer, Jim English, Eric Fairchild, George & Nicolette Wagman, Tim Martin, Gloria Charles and John Reitz on July 18,1990.

  • The other group is open to Sports Cars and Sports-Touring Cars representing geographic regions – classes for North American, European and Asian cars.  The ‘Wild Card’ class encompasses the replicar community and any other automobile that does not fit into the regions stated above.

Downtown Carlisle isn't just about the Harvest of the Arts Festival on this day. The resurgence of the downtown business district in recent years means that numerous and diverse restaurants and shops await you. Whether you favor American, Belgian, English or Italian cuisines or the local brew scene - all are here.  And as each year passes by, the number of quaint shops increases so that new treasures are always ready to explore. Many of these establishments are within easy walking distances of the Artistry on Wheels Motorshow
